HarmonyCares Hospice is looking for a certified therapy pet owner who would like to support hospice patients/families. You will be providing hope, fun and laughter to patients and families who are coping with an end of life diagnosis. Volunteers are such an integral part of our team, and we would love to have you be a part of what we do at HarmonyCares Hospice! We participate in a program called We Honor Veterans and celebrate each veteran we care for with a special ceremony to thank them for their service. We are always looking for volunteers who are veterans and would like to participate in these ceremonies as well as visit our veteran patients for companionship. Our office is also seeking Administrative Volunteers to help with copying, filing, creating packets, sorting patient charts and working on special projects. Are you a nursing or CNA student looking for volunteer hours in the healthcare field? Please consider joining us at HArmonyCares Hospice where you can visit directly with patients and/or work in the office behind the scenes to help our program run smoothly. Direct volunteers are assigned to a patient, typically living at home or in a nursing home/facility, and they visit an hour or so weekly to provide support and companionship. They can also be a source of respite for caregivers, and run errands, do yard work, etc. We will tailor your volunteer time to meet your needs and interests. We ask that volunteers make a 6 month commitment or longer, and that they dedicate 4-6hrs per month to volunteering. Office volunteers assist with special projects, organization, helping with volunteer recruiting tasks and other fun projects for patients. Our patients are all within a 60 mile radius of Oakbrook Terrace, where our office is located. Hours/days are flexible.
