Mission Statement

Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest responds to local community needs in the Pacific Northwest by placing volunteers who provide value-centered service grounded in the Jesuit Catholic tradition. Honoring the Divine at work in all things, we envision the Northwest as a sustainable region where all live in dignity, are treated justly, and actively contribute to their own empowerment and positive change in their communities.

Description

Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) Northwest engages individuals in a transforming experience of full-time volunteer service. Jesuit Volunteer (JV)/AmeriCorps members* serve for a year or more in solidarity with people living on the margins of society and with fragile ecosystems in the Northwest. Throughout the year, volunteers explore the values of simple living, community, spirituality/reflection, and social and ecological justice. *Please note: "JV/AmeriCorps member" is a general term referring to all Jesuit Volunteers, both JV AmeriCorps members and non-AmeriCorps JVs.
