Description

The Rogosin Institute, established in New York City in 1983, is an independent, not-for-profit institution with more than 550 staff members whose mission is to provide the highest quality, compassionate clinical care for people with kidney and other chronic diseases, including cardiovascular diseases (hypertension and lipid disorders), diabetes, and cancer through a multifaceted, integrative approach.

Rogosin is closely affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medical College and is a Sponsored Member of the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System. Ranked among the top six providers of kidney care in the U.S., Rogosin has a strong, growing presence in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan with nine facilities and provides care for more than 20,000 patients, 1,600 of whom are on dialysis. The Institute is the 10thlargest dialysis provider in the U.S. performing over 200,000 dialysis procedures per year.

A pioneer in both dialysis and transplantation, Rogosin performed the first kidney dialysis in the late 1950s and the first kidney transplant in New York City and State in 1963. To date, Rogosin has performed more than 5,000 kidney transplants in cooperation with NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell.

Rogosin is unique in that our clinical efforts are nationally recognized and contributing to better health by providing and setting the standards for new models of health care and health promotion.
