Mission Statement

The mission of Art Works Austin! is to assemble a team of skilled, experienced teachers to guide our students in expressing the art and creativity that is within each of them.

Description

Our Story

In 2009, Vanessa Huff, the founder of Art Works Austin! had an idea- she could bring the magical experience of creating art to any person, young or old, skilled or unskilled. She established a business, Art and Soul, and in time offered classes in a location at the Mueller Development in Austin. While this was a successful venture, Vanessa began to realize she could serve a broader and more worthwhile purpose than her business model and location allowed.

In 2018, Vanessa formed the nonprofit Art Works Austin! and, supported by her board, generous donors and a team of experienced teachers, began to take the art experience directly to the students. Serving seniors through Aging is Cool and youth through the Montessori Schools, Art Works Austin! is growing and ready to serve diverse participants throughout Austin.
