Culture Shock (r) Chicago is a not-for-profit company specializing in hip hop dance and education. We perform throughout the Chicagoland area and tour the US and Canada. Local performance highlights have included Dance Chicago, the city's largest annual dance festival; events for Chicago landmarks such as Six Flags, the Shedd Aquarium and the Museum of Science and Industry and an amazing performance for 6,000 CPS students with First Lady Michelle Obama to launch her "Let’s Move" Youth Fitness Program. Beyond just teaching hip hop, we offer the opportunity of personal self expression and movement within the genre's many forms. Our community enrichment programs are designed to give Chicago youth, along with their families, a chance to enjoy hip hop dance as a positive and fulfilling activity. We strive to create opportunities where young adults can feel confident, empowered and successful. It's not just about the performance for us....we work twice as hard to bring dance and scholarships to our youth and families in underserved areas of our community. Our roots run deep throughout the Chicagoland area and we are honored to help shape the next generation.
