Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The mission of No One Left Behind is to stand with our brave wartime allies (and their families) from Afghanistan and Iraq. These individuals chose to serve the US military and government as interpreters and in other support roles, often at great risk to their lives and the lives of their loved ones. After an extensive application and security vetting process, many have been and will continue to be resettled in the US under the Special Immigrant Visa program. Others continue to serve in Iraq and Afghanistan as they struggle and wait for their Visa to be approved. Some were forced to flee their home countries in order to seek relative safety elsewhere, though there they often face significant struggles and an uncertain future in these first countries of refuge. No matter where they are, we are committed to doing whatever we can to make sure that no one is left behind.
The Pittsburgh, PA chapter of No One Left Behind is dedicated to ensuring that these faithful men, women and their families who come to the greater Pittsburgh area can settle into their new lives as quickly as possible. Once granted a special immigrant visa (SIV), these interpreters and their families move to the United States often with just one suitcase. Through donations of our community, we provide them with the basic necessities of successful American life (furniture, kitchen utensils, school supplies, and when possible, transportation).
