Description

Rockingham Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice, has been caring for individuals and their families since 1905. Our agency now serves patients in Rockingham and Strafford Counties. Our Hospice program is a comprehensive, team-oriented approach to care that seeks to treat and comfort terminally ill patients and their loved ones. Hospice is a philosophy accepts death as a natural part of life, seeking neither to hasten death nor to prolong life. As important members of the Hospice Team, Hospice volunteers provide comfort, companionship, and respite for hospice patients and their caregivers. Hospice volunteers go through a comprehensive 8 week training course which covers all aspects of Hospice care, enabling volunteers understand practical, psychosocial and emotional factors involved in working with patients at the end of their lives and their families. For information about volunteer opportunities at Rockingham Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice please call Martha Carlson, Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, at 1-800-540-2981
