Are you looking for a way to give back to the community? Does working with older adults make your heart smile? NewBridge has the perfect opportunity for you to fulfill both. Join us to help keep our Older Adults in the Madison community independent. Current volunteers are required to be vaccinated from COVID-19 before engaging in this program. A prevailing sense of loneliness is among the most common issues faced by Adults 60+ today With 42.6 million older adults reporting a feeling of social disconnect - a fact compounded by the decline of traditional community centers such as churches. Our Home Chore Program looks to alleviate that loneliness while helping with practical tasks. As a volunteer, you will be paired/matched with an Older Adult near you. You will be responsible for visiting that Older Adult once to twice a month, making sure they are doing ok, listening to their stories and helping with chores that have become difficult for them. We have matches that have been together for OVER TEN YEARS. This is a great way to fulfill your new year's resolution of helping others but also creating a relationship that brings real meaning to both parties. Respond to this or go here to get started! https://newbridgemadison.org/volunteer

Become a Snow Angel to a senior in need by signing up to take care of their snow removal this season. We work with numerous seniors who are physically unable to clear their sidewalks and driveways and they desperately need your help removing their snow. This helps them get to medical appointments, receive Meals on Wheels, and not get fined by the city. YOU can help make a huge difference in their lives by becoming a volunteer! The Home Chore program was created for Older Adults, 60+, who are physically or mentally incapable of keeping up with daily cleaning tasks in their home. Home Chore volunteers help these Older Adults with light cleanings twice a month. Helping with these tasks. such as dusting, laundry, or cleaning floors, help to keep Older Adults safe and independent in their own home. Often these individuals do not have help from family or friends and cannot afford a cleaning service. Flexible schedule, volunteers create their own hours and choose the day they can help clean! Please apply today! https://www.newbridgemadison.org/volunteerapplication
