Food Pickup Driver

Thankfully we have awesome grocery stores who support our efforts at the food bank. All we have to provide is drivers to pick up the food and deliver it to the food bank. Its a fun and rewarding job, perfect for retired individuals, or anyone who has their mornings free and can comfortably drive a cargo van. Drivers need to be over 21, be able to lift 40 pounds, have a clean driving record, license, and insurance. The driving shifts are mondays, tuesdays, and thursdays, from 8:30am-11:30am. We need back up drivers and regular drivers. These drivers will also have opportunities to drive on other days and times to help pickup donations from schools and businesses. We will train you!

Deliver Food Bank Items to Seniors / Disabled Customers

We are looking for caring drivers to deliver 2-3 pre-packed bags of food to seniors and disabled customers who are unable to get to our food bank. Choose as few as 1-2, or as many as 10 customers to delivery to, whatever your schedule allows. Deliveries are done by area of town, so customers will be local to Mill Creek area and grouped together. Deliveries are on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. How it works: Drivers would go to the Mill Creek Community Food Bank and pick up bags for their customer(s). We can help you choose the customers you'd like to deliver to. Then, using your own vehicle, drive to customer's home and deliver to them. For 1-3 deliveries, budget about 30-45 minutes per week. For 7-10 deliveries, budget about 1.5-2 hours. Customers will be grouped by geographic location, often they would be at the same apartment complex. Looking for a weekly committment. If you need to skip a week, just let us know. We ask that you don't enter a customer's home or apartment. We are unable to reimburse for gas, however, our delivery customers are nearby so a lot of gas won't be required. If you are interested in larger delivery numbers (8-10 customers), you may be able to drive our vehicle. Background checks will be performed on prospective drivers. Delivering to customers is fun and easy with a friend. If you have someone who would like to deliver with you, even better.
