Mission Statement
Transforming rural communities and schools in Jamaica by providing residents with necessities, schools with educational resources and completing improvement projects in both the schools and communities.
Description
Our organization became an official 501(c)3 non-profit in February 2016. It was started by Executive Director Jacquel Tucker who grew up in the rural community of Higgins Land located in St. Ann, Jamaica. We visit Jamaica twice annually for our mission trips. Our largest trip is typically in June and last for one week. During each trip we positively impact at least one rural community and 4 schools. We typically execute painting projects at these schools, establish a proper library and computer lab and provide computers, school and art supplies and hygiene kits. We award educational sponsorships for 7-10 year olds through our Just One Education Initiative which was launched in 2018. We were able to sponsor 36 students and our 2019 goal is 50. In 2018 we also launched our We Care Service Appreciation luncheon where we recognized 60 teachers and principals from various schools throughout the country. We surprised them with some much needed resources.
