The Main Street De Pere Program is a not-for-profit organization, organized in 1990 to promote the economic and historic redevelopment of the downtown district. The program counts on its support from those who want to assure the vitality of downtown businesses and historic properties. It provides incentives for business expansion and location in the downtown. It supports downtown festivals and events that attract both residents and tourists. Main Street volunteers provide design assistance for downtown buildings and signs. It provides a conduit for communication between the business and the City of De Pere. It seeks short and long-term goals for the preservation of the historic business district.
