Our Story: Barbells for Boobs owes its origins to the friendship between founder Zionna Hanson and Cecy Morales.
At 26 years old, Cecy discovered a lump on her breast. She was denied breast screening services by her doctor and recommended a " mammography at age 40 ". Not satisfied, Cecy advocated for her own health. Due to her persistence, she discovered that she was living with breast cancer.
The reality that no one is immune to breast cancer Z pursued her passion for health and fitness, Barbells for Boobs was born.
(RTK) Right to Know program serves as an early breast cancer detection resource nationwide with an increase in advocacy, navigation and support.
(RAD) Resources After Diagnosis Improve quality of life post diagnosis through fitness program.
Our impact: (RTK) Right to Know program we served over 26,000 individuals, funded 51,000 early detection services and diagnosed 354 individuals w/ breast cancer. (RAD) Resources After Diagnosis we’ve served 605 individuals!
