Mission Statement
The mission of the Johnson County Conservation Board is to acquire, develop, maintain, and make available to the inhabitants of the county, public museums, parks, preserves, parkways, playgrounds, recreational centers, county forests, wildlife and other conservation areas, and to promote and preserve the health and general welfare of the people, to encourage the orderly development and conservation of natural resources, and to cultivate good citizenship by providing adequate programs of public recreation.
Description
Johnson County Conservation manages over 2,000 acres of land and outdoor recreation areas throughout the County. Many native prairies, river access areas, small community parks, and the 1,052 acre F.W. Kent Park provide a variety of services in natural resources, recreation, environmental education, and conservation.
