Sacramento Children's Chorus

Description

The SCC is our region's premiere children's choir and like all arts in Sacramento, it plays an essential role in the arts and cultural life of our community. This role has become even more critical as our public schools continue to face declining funds and thus are largely eliminating music programs and choirs. The SCC is working hard to fill this gap. Sacramento Children's Chorus gives children the chance to participate as an artist and to appreciate performances as an audience member.

Participation in a choir also has physical, mental and emotional benefits that are crucial with the stress facing our young people today. Through participation, singers get a workout, sleep better and have better mental alertness, concentration and memory. In addition, singers learn team-building, listening, creativity and social skills. They develop discipline, better test scores, confidence and personal commitment.
