Do you love orchestral music? Would you like to work as a volunteer with a small non-profit, meet interesting people, and listen to beautiful music? The National String Symphonia (NSS) is looking to fill the position of Coordinator of Individual Giving. This position is responsible for handling all administrative and record-keeping tasks associated with written solicitations for and receipt of individual donations made to the orchestra. This person would be tasked with mailing letters twice each year to potential donors and friends of the NSS. Once donations are received, thank you letters and/or emails are sent to donors for their tax records. This work can be performed virtually. If interested, we would love to hear from you! Please note: Although the work of this position can be done virtually, we are looking for someone in the Baltimore or Frederick, MD, or Washington DC areas.

Would you like to work as a volunteer with a small non-profit, meet interesting people, and listen to beautiful music? The National String Symphonia (NSS) is looking to fill the position of Director of Community Engagement. This person serves as the primary link between the orchestra and the community. As such, he/she oversees social media activity; develops and maintain relationships with local retirement communities, schools, churches, etc.; manages marketing activities including public relations (press, flyers, and newsletters), advertising (print, electronic, and media), season subscription campaigns and new subscriber activities; and ticket sales (including box office management).

This person would be responsible for all NSS posts on various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, etc. We are looking for someone who is well-versed in these platforms and can provide insights for increasing the NSS social media presence. The National String Symphonia (NSS) is looking to fill the position of Librarian which is responsible for the procurement, preparation, and maintenance of the orchestra’s music library. In addition, this person will prepare reports for performance licensing organizations ensuring fees are paid in a timely manner; attend orchestra rehearsals and concerts to distribute/collect music; prepare the annual library budget; etc. While we are looking for someone in or near the areas of the District of Columbia, Baltimore or Frederick, MD, much of this work can be performed virtually. The Director of Orchestra Operations is responsible for ensuring that the scheduling and production of all orchestra events (concerts, rehearsals, tours, run-outs, special events) run smoothly, effectively, and in a financially responsible manner. This person is also responsible for carrying out many provisions in the master agreement.
