The PiEproject Foundation is a non-profit community initiative that uses yoga, social awareness, and creative expression to create individual and societal change in Aurora and Kane County. P. Yoga Practice PiE starts with the practice. PiE will provide individuals the opportunity to learn about and experience yoga as a therapeutic and transformational platform. We will do this through Facilitation, Education, and Access. i. Community Investment PiE will make yoga more accessible and affordable for individuals in the community. We will empower others to support our mission through volunteering, donating and fundraising. E. Human Experience PiE creates experiences that change the communities and individuals we serve by narrowing the scope between a yoga practice, social awareness, and creative expression through Events, Community Collaboration, and Art
PiE will deliver change in the following ways:
PiE will offer accessible and affordable classes and programs at its headquarters location in Aurora Illinois. Additionally, PiE will opportunistically provide classes and programs throughout the community. PiE’s goal is to guide individuals to live more purposefully in their mind and body and also have folks bring that purpose to serving others. Research shows that nearly 50% of all practitioners report donating time to their communities compared to just 26% of non-yoga practitioners
PiE will offer local Outreach Programs that take the teachings and practice of yoga to the clients and staff of partnering service providers. PiE is currently doing outreach work at St. John’s Peace House and Shelter for All.
PiE will create events that will use the creative expression of the arts in such a way that participants can experience how taking care of their mind and well-being goes beyond a habitual fitness routine.
