At Hospice of Wilson Medical Center, we are more than an organization of hospice professionals - we are proud members of communities across North Carolina. Compassionate, quality service is our mission. And to us, service means getting to know our patients on a personal level.
We are always looking for new volunteers to join our team. We have volunteer meetings once a month where we come together for training, support, and fellowship. Our wonderful volunteers assist us with administrative duties such as assembling mailings or making phone calls to check on the patients. Provide companionship and support for the patients and family in the home. Some volunteers may run errands for the patient or stay with the patient while the caregiver runs an errand. We have chaplain volunteers whom help assist patients when extra spiritual care is needed, and bereavement volunteers that provide additional bereavement support. We have a bereavement support group that meets once a month and some of the volunteers assist with that as well. We are part of the We Honor Veterans Program. We have recently started a prayer shawl ministry and are crocheting shawls to help bring comfort for our patients. We also participate in different activities within the community. We are all about helping people. If you have in becoming a part of our team we would love to hear from you.
