Are you passionate about animals? Do you take pride in providing excellent customer service? Do you enjoy working in a fast paced, never boring environment? The Shelter Ambassador position at the Everett Animal Shelter might be the perfect opportunity for you to make an impact! The Everett Animal Shelter is in need of new regular volunteers to fill one of our most important Shelter Support roles! We take in and care for animals from 16 different jurisdictions and care for over 5000 animals a year. With this volume comes a constant stream of inquiries and contacts from the public. The shelter ambassador helps with everything from recording voicemails, making callbacks, greeting visitors, triaging and prioritizing multiple situations at once. The common tasks this position handles are: -Helping with voicemails to ensure we don't miss anything or let anything hold longer than needed. -Answering the front door, greeting visitors, and getting them started. -Answering the phones and responding to basic inquiries and taking messages for staff. -Identifying the urgency of inquiries and handling them appropriately. -Assisting with donations and housekeeping tasks in the lobby. We are also looking to quickly expand this important role. Animal shelters can be unpredictable environments and there are always unexpected happenings so having a support role that can screen and triage incoming calls/visitors and triage them appropriately makes a huge difference on the staff. In this role you will help reunite owners with their lost pets sooner, ensure medical emergencies are answered and responded to, provide valuable information about handling lost/found dogs to the public, and so much more!

The Everett Animal Shelter is in need of new regular volunteers! We take in and care for animals from 16 different jurisdictions and care for over 5000 animals a year. There is no shortage of need for help or ways you can help. Attending a Volunteer Orientation is the first stop for new Everett Animal Shelter volunteers. During orientation attendees will learn about the shelter and the volunteer program, and then you're ready for your first shifts. Most shifts require little to no prior experience and we will do all of the training on-site! The most common shifts/positions people come in for are: -Dog Walking (Morning and Afternoon Crews) -Feline Care (Socializing the cats, spot cleaning cat areas) -Back of the House (Dishes, laundry, organizing, etc.) -Kennel Assistant (Helping with cleaning kennels while dogs are out on walks) -Customer Service (Checking voicemails, greeting people at the door, assisting front desk staff) -Vet Assistant (Helping the vets we have on site daily) *Note: Requires Previous Vet tech Experience* -Kennel Cleaning (Helping the AM staff clean the kennels first thing in the morning) -Fostering (Actually taking animals home and caring for them at your own home) -So much more! We are also looking to quickly expand the options, positions, and ways people can help in the very near future so if there is a different way you want to contribute and help the animals in our care, don't hesitate to let us know what skills you have!
