Mission Statement

The Pend Oreille Arts Council exists to facilitate quality experiences in the arts through educational programs and presentations that benefit the people of North Idaho.

Description

The Pend Oreille Arts Council is in its fifth decade of celebrating adventures in the arts.

We currently serve the community through:

  • The Kaleidoscope educational program that teaches the elements of art to over 1100 students, preparing them for advanced critical thinking coursework in high school and beyond.
  • The Ovations program, where 90 student performers learn the discipline and dedication required to succeed in creative jobs and over 550 students learn about history and cultural diversity through in-school workshops.
  • Gallery exhibits that provide professional development opportunities to over 75 emerging and mid-career artists every year.
  • ArtWalk and the Arts & Crafts Fair, which brighten the Sandpoint summers with free community events that showcase the best of local and regional creative expression and provide a boost to the tourist economy.
  • The Performing arts series and Gallery Exhibits, which fill the community with free and affordable, family-friendly, culturally enriching programs throughout the school year.
