Cheshire Land Trust is a grassroots, volunteer organization committed to conserving open space and Cheshire's important natural and historic resources for today and tomorrow.
Since 1969 CLT has supported conservation locally. We currently steward 600 acres by title or conservation easement. Among those properties are farms, woodlands, meadows and wetlands. We hold regular stewardship days, lead guided hikes, support and mentor local students interested in environmental issues and conservation, partner with other in-state and local non-profits, host education programs and fun family events. We work with UConn with its CTP program, CTDEEP and U.S. Fish & Wildlife for the Quinnipiac River Trail, Save the Sound in the Mill River Project, QRWA in annual Source to Sound clean up.
