Fostering a dog is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. By taking an animal in need temporarily into your home you’re saving even more lives by freeing up a spot in a shelter for another dog to be taken in. In many cases, you could be the dog’s first chance at experiencing life in a real home that provides regular care and love. To see a foster dog grow into a normal, loving dog while under your care is the such a rewarding and heartwarming experience. During this period of Covid-19 we are following all CDC social distance guidelines to keep our fosters and volunteers safe. Warrior Dog will provide everything you need to foster a dog. We provide training, a collar, tag, leash, crate, food, blankets, beds, gates and potty pads if needed. We also provide all vet care, should the dog need vet care while you are fostering. We are a family here at Warrior Dog Rescue, and will be there with you every step of the way. Foster homes are needed that can help a dog work through their behavioral challenges, show them they can trust, and see them through to their adoptive home. Some will need to be the only dog in the home, or a home that doesn't have a lot of people over, or a home without children. Many people have given up on these dogs, we believe in them and we need your help to give them a chance. No special skills are required, if you have a heart to help, that is all you need! Warrior Dog Rescue will provide you one on one ongoing training help with all the support you will need. Warrior Dog Rescue provides all food, blankets, supplies, toys, treats, & medical care for the foster dog.

We need helping hands on the ground at events to greet and direct people to the right places, help set up exercise pens for litters of puppies, caring for dogs during the events, selling merchandise, etc. Let us know where your passions lie and together we can match you with the right opportunity! Many dogs that come from hard pasts need some time with a dedicated, loving foster before they are ready to find their forever home. These dogs are often forgotten, given up on, and tossed from one location to another. Many of them are anxious around other dogs. Some have been abused by people and need to learn that they are now safe and can trust. Some just need to learn that not every noise is a danger to them, they no longer need to be on alert because their person will keep them safe. These dogs need a special person or family to help them. This person would be confident (without being dominant or stern), patient, and have a passion for truly changing the life of the dog. A professional trainer will be teaching you techniques, games, and methods to help the dog with their specific needs with ongoing training and support. Everything you need to care for the dog is provided, food, treats, toys, blankets, bed, and all medical is covered.
