Mission Statement

The mission of the West Yavapai Guidance Clinic Foundation is to support the West Yavapai Guidance Clinic by raising funds and mental health awareness. Doing so makes a critical difference in mental health outcomes within the Yavapai county communities of Prescott, Prescott Valley, and Chino Valley. The more friends we make and the more dollars we raise, the more we are able to advance mental health awareness and well-being and transform lives. We are a non-profit organization, and funnel resources we raise to support existing WYGC programs and to pursue new initiatives. Our vision and commitment is a community in which mental health services are available to anyone and everyone in need.

Description

The West Yavapai Guidance Clinic (WYGC) offers high-quality and client-centered mental health, crisis intervention, and addiction services to residents of Yavapai County, Arizona. The Clinic was established in 1966 by a group of visionary volunteers who dreamt of a community in which the healthcare needs of all were met. In 1986, the related but separate WYGC Foundation was created with a mission to support WYGC by raising funds and awareness to make a critical difference in mental health outcomes. By raising dollars and awareness, the WYGC Foundation is able to both support current WYGC programs and pursue new initiatives to expand services in the community. The Clinic serves approximately 7,000 clients every year, over 80% of who are low-to-moderate income. Services are delivered from a foundational belief that most emotional problems and behavioral health disorders result from interplay between biological, social and psychological factors.
