Mission Statement

Hennepin County 4-H supports high quality sustainable clubs and programs, which allow young people (grades Kindergarten through one year after high school) to measurably improve their learning and leadership through educational programs and applied research. We work with youth, families, volunteers, interns, and partners to provide intentional space for young people to discover their interests, develop focused skills, and then connect those skills and interests to future possibilities. Much of Hennepin County 4-H's work focuses on engaging youth in meaningful leadership opportunities. We seek to provide opportunities where youth can discover their personal leadership abilities, build critical thinking and decision-making skills, and contribute their leadership skills to making a positive impact in their community.

Description

In 4-H, all youth are welcome.

4-H is an out-of-school, hands-on learning program for people age 5-19. Youth choose a project that’s interesting to them and explore it with peers and caring adults. 4-H clubs are groups of youth who want to learn together and meet in every part of Minnesota.

Hennepin County 4-H is actively recruiting adult volunteer positions (ages 18+) to join our program’s leadership team for the 2022-23 year, which starts October 2022. One-time, short-term, and year-round positions available.

To inquire and apply, please complete the Hennepin County 4-H Volunteer Interest Form (z.umn.edu/Hennepin4HVolunteer).

  • All accepted applicants must complete 4-H Volunteer Screening: registration, background check, and orientation.
  • All positions start October 2022 or when filled!
