Mission Statement

The Save Movement uses the strategy of bearing witness to animals in their final moments as they approach slaughterhouses, live markets and auctions. We use a love-based community-organizing approach based on non violence, love and truth as informed by Leo Tolstoy and Mahatma Gandhi. We advocate veganism and activism, namely the idea that everyone has the duty to bear witness. We also have a zero tolerance approach to animal exploitation. We advocate and educate the community about how animal agriculture negatively effects the environment , our health, and the innocent animals

Description

We have held vigils outside the local slaughterhouse FPL Food in Augusta GA since 2016. The goal of our regular vigils at slaughterhouse is to encourage people to adopt a nonviolent, vegan lifestyle, and, just as importantly, to nurture advocacy, activism and organizing on the part each participant. We document the animal victims and the activists via photos and videos and use social media to spread global awareness and activism.
We use a non-violent, love-based approach to community organizing as a means of being the change we want to see in the world. The approach is inclusive and welcoming to all.
We participate in peaceful street demonstrations with Anonymous for the Voiceless in Cube of Truth events We table at local events to do outreach and advocate a choice for a more compassionate lifestyle. We have many events through out the year in the CSRA.
We are working towards a compassionate world for all species.
