Mission Statement
Deliver exceptional education and services to improve the lives of our students and strengthen our communities
Description
The purpose of Adult Volunteer Literacy Programs is to provide literacy instruction to adult learners who test below 9th grade equivalency level using trained literacy tutors.
Our goal is to provide quality literacy instruction in reading, writing, math and English language to adults who lack basic academic skills enabling them to fully engage in family work and community roles.
We serve the entire Illinois Eastern Community Colleges district which includes all of Crawford, Edwards, Lawrence, Richland, and Wabash Counties; most of Wayne County and limited areas of Clark, Clay, Cumberland, Hamilton, Jasper, and White Counties
