ORANGE COUNTY RURAL ALLIANCE

Description

The Orange County Rural Alliance (OCRA) is to provide assistance to the elderly and disabled in rural Orange County to age in place with monitoring health conditions, hot meals, food delivery, minor home repairs, consistent weekly visits, observation and correction of unsafe living conditions, and referral to county or volunteer resources that may provide additional assistance as well as county social services, health care service referrals, and transportation as needed.

OCRA acknowledges the challenges of isolation, poverty, and pride. It is difficult to build trust and access to the rural senior community. Referral through local institutions and community are vital to our success. Our seniors are community members-not charity recipients. Our community-based approach will help overcome these barriers.
