Description

The founder of My Song of Hope has worked in the community services area for over a decade. She began as a grantwriter and as a result felt a greater need to be more involved in service to homeless individuals. After a year of research, My Song of Hope, Inc. was organized, incorporated and given tax-exempt status. We are still in the "building" phase and making great strides to becoming an organization that will generate positive results with the homeless population. Joining with us now, will place you at the forefront of the start of a rewarding and fulfilling journey. My Song of Hope ("MySOH") will give services and support to clients who are ready to reintegrate back into permanent and sustainable living situations as quickly as possible. We will provide a home-away-from-home type setting where the clients can get the sense and feel of a real home environment. While residing in the home, we offer programs based upon their need to navigate them to home ownership and/;or rental properties - such as, financial literacy, music therapy, horticulture therapy, substance/alcohol abuse counseling and community involvement. MySOH volunteers and collaborates with several other organizations in assisting them in achieving their goals - such as Gateway Center, Veterans Empowerment Organization. Through our Feeding the Homeless Outreach events, we have gained the trust of several homeless men, veterans included, who have voiced an interest in becoming a part of our program when it is fully operational.
