The Mariners' Temple Baptist Church Community Outreach Programs provide food, clothing, guidance and supports for groups, families and individuals in need. We have initiated small-group ministries designed to address the specific needs and interests of children, youth, young adults, women, men, elders, veterans, cancer survivors, bereaved families and more.
In 2020, Mariners' Temple celebrates 225 years of ministry and mission from the corner of Henry and Oliver Streets. Known as the "Mother of Churches," Mariners' Temple is credited with helping to expand the Baptist Church movement through its witness and empowerment of immigrant populations who visited or settled into Manhattan's lower east side neighborhood. The church aims to continue to develop and provide programs that respond to the needs of local residents, many who are immigrants and other who live in transitional housing.
