Mission Statement

At KDSP our mission is to structure a straighter path for formerly incarcerated individuals who have or experience mental health challenges, HIV, homelessness, and substance abuse disorders. KDSP is for all formerly incarcerated individuals to have the ability and tools to maintain a productive, positive, and functional way of life that first and foremost embraces mental wellness and physical well-being along with work to reduce recidivism. KDSP strongly believes that with mental health support, transitional housing, life skills, and additional resources are the much needed tools to assist and improve the lives of people returning to society from county, state, and federal prisons.

Description

Currently, Kevi-Dem's Straighter Path Foundation has focused its efforts on advocating and providing reentry counseling for formerly incarcerated individuals and their families. We provide resources, navigation tools, case management, and coaching to empower individuals facing the challenges of stigmatization and social barriers as they adapt to contemporary communities and life outside the prison system. As we grow, our aim is to develop the scope and reach of our services to include transitional housing and a more robust range of clinical services and platforms that will improve the self determination and autonomy of the people we serve.
