ACTION FOR EDUCATION INC

Description

Action for Education operates education and healthcare projects in different communities throughout western Honduras. We run a secondary school, the Juan Orlando Hernandez Public School, in San Pedro Sula. It offers high-quality education to children who would not other have access to schooling, and currently serves 375 students. We have also established an auxiliary nursing program in Trinidad, Santa Barbara. This program seeks to address the lack of medical professionals and employment opportunities in the area by providing tuition-free nursing education to 35 students. We also operate regular medical service trips, which repeatedly go to the same communities in order to provide longitudinal care.
