Mission Statement

AIGYA's mission is to make the breadth of the gap year opportunities known to students across the denominational spectrum. Taking ownership of their Jewish identity and solidifying their Israel relationship through the gap year experience, before they enter college, will fortify them against pressures to conform and encourage Jewish life engagement.

Description

The American Israel Gap Year Association is a non-profit organization and central resource for information on gap-year programs and opportunities in Israel.

AIGYA produces largest Israel focused Gap Year Fair on the West Coast and the only cross-denominational fair in the country. AIGYA provides parents, students, teachers, and school administrators the opportunity to learn about the importance of connecting to Israel and the Jewish peoplehood.

AIGYA also offers year-round Israel gap year counseling to students and their families, particularly to public school students, who do not always have immediate access to information on visiting, working, or studying in Israel.
