Mission Statement

To provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life.

Description

Since 1963, BGC Durham (formerly Eastview Boys and Girls Club and Boys and Girls Club of Durham) has provided recreational and social development programs in Durham and has grown into one of the Region’s most established and effective youth serving organizations. With a membership that currently exceeds 1000 children, we are pleased to provide fully equipped facilities to match our wide range of quality programs.

BGC Durham is one of many clubs across the country that offers youth, ages 6 to 21 years, an opportunity to belong to a place that is just for their own benefit. As of September 2013, there are twenty locations throughout the Durham Region that offer our After School Programs. We also offer; teen programs -Ball at the Centre, RBC Raise the Grade, and, Youth Justice and Youth Outreach.

Our Club offers not just fun/interactive activities; we aim to meet the needs of our membership through various workshops, and programs focusing on issues that are present concerns of children and youth in our community.

We encourage and support our club members as they strive to reach their full potential. We are sensitive to the fact that all children have unique personalities and that development stages may differ. We are certain that you will be pleased with the quality care they will receive from our caring, enthusiastic staff.
