Mission Statement

The historic Everett C. Benton Library is a non-profit independent library run by volunteers and supported entirely by donations. The library is located at 75 Oakley Road in Belmont, MA, at the corner of Oakley and Old Middlesex Roads. The Benton Library is a lending library with over 7,500 cataloged books including a robust selection of best sellers and mysteries, as well as a wonderful, ever-expanding children's and young adult collection. Library cards are free and available to all; you do not need to be a Belmont resident to borrow books.

Description

We have a special need for the Tuesday 10am-1pm, Thursday 4:30pm-7pm shift and the Saturday 2pm-5pm shift (every 3rd Saturday). We also have a great need for substitute librarians, they take shifts on an as-needed basis to fill in for regulars. For safety, you never work alone and this is a great way to meet other members of the Belmont community. The other great perk is that often the slower times will afford you time to work on your own projects while still helping out.

Even if you do not have time to volunteer with us now, please stop by - hours are:
Tuesdays, 10 AM - 1 PM
Wednesdays, 2 - 7 PM
Thursdays, 2 - 7 PM
Fridays, 10 AM - 1 PM
1st Friday evening every month, 5 - 8 PM
3rd Saturday afternoon every month, 2 - 5 PM
