Mission Statement

A thriving maker space powered by art and community. The mission of The Generator is to continuously build a creative community by offering a safe and supportive space where people can share knowledge, explore interests, and follow their curiosity. We are an open and accepting environment where all are welcome regardless of background, skills, education, or experience. We believe that the personal growth of the individual leads to the evolution of both the greater community and the work it produces.

Description

Founded in 2013, The Generator is a cornerstone of Reno arts culture housing an inclusive creative community in their member-based maker space. Over the last eight years, The Generator has produced notable large-scale works such as The Space Whale, Bebot, Embrace, Quality of Life, Baba Yaga’s House, the Ichthyosaur, and hundreds of other sculptures. The Generator also provides quality education programs for children and adults to help everyone unleash their inner maker.
