Mission Statement

OCLTRG or RISE OC, will strengthen area-wide disaster coordination in Orange County, Florida by sharing information, simplifying resident access to services and jointly resolving cases of unmet disaster-related recovery needs.

Description

OCLTRG was incorporated in Feb 2018 when, in the wake of Hurricane Irma, there were many individuals and families still struggling to return to normalcy. Over the next few years, the organization will grow and have significant impact on the Central Florida community.

We will facilitate collaboration of many non-profit and faith-based organizations to address a variety of issues faced by low-income families. Our focus will be on educating and serving veterans, disabled, seniors and low income homeowners. The outcome will be helping them to establish a sound emotional, physical foundation that helps them to be resilient while also improving the safety and health of their homes and revitalizing their communities.

OCLTRG intends to address the root of housing deterioration by rebuilding all failing systems in a home that enable it to provide "healthy housing". In future storm situations, their home will have a better chance of withstanding the elements. In addition, they will have a greater chance of staying in their existing home as opposed to expensive alternatives.

We will work together to recruit volunteers, skilled-tradesman and ordinary citizens, to work together to provide the needed services. In addition, when necessary we will hire licensed, experienced contractors to lead the construction teams.
