Mission Statement

Crisis Intervention & Advocacy Center unites communities to end violence and oppression for all people.

Description

From Crisis Intervention & Advocacy Center’s (CIAC) inception in 1991, the center has been victim/survivor driven. The mission reflects that focus by stating that, "Crisis Intervention & Advocacy Center unites communities to end violence and oppression for all people." We serve all victims, survivors and support systems without discrimination. Our services are free, voluntary and confidential for survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault, violent crime and homicide. We also provide housing services in all ten counties. All of our services are provided in a mobile capacity and within each of the ten counties we serve.

As our agency has expanded we have pursued additional office spaces in that expansion and moved programs to accommodate the locations of victims/survivors. The main office has always been located in Adel, a central location in Dallas County, the most densely populated county we serve. We currently have office space in all ten of our counties and several options in some counties due to community support and volunteers.

The trained advocates provide acute crisis response and long term advocacy services. Crisis Intervention includes support, listening, information, options and assessing danger in an effort to safety plan.
