Mission Statement

 To draw upon the skills, abilities and commitment of members of the community willing to volunteer their time to address the needs of men and women incarcerated in Anne Arundel County’s correctional facilities. With willing hands, fresh views, and open minds, volunteers support the Department’s mission by enhancing services, which provide inmates with the tools necessary to successfully re-enter the community and lead law-abiding lives.

To provide for the public’s safety through the confinement of pre-trial detainees and convicted offenders in safe and secure facilities, and by offering alternatives to incarceration and re-entry services which are comprehensive and effective.
