Mission Statement

The National Speech & Debate Association is one of the largest high school honors socieities in the world. For decades, the NSDA has sought to give youth in this country the voice they need to communicate and be successful in our world. The NSDA offers a wide array of events such as Public Speaking, Interpretation, and Debate events to suit all types of performers. Even if you only try it once, your experience in the NFL is something you will learn much from and certainly never forget. But don't just take our word for it. There are ENDLESS REASONS why Speech & Debate is worth a try!

West High NFL Chapter

Since 1970 West High's Debate team has been actively involved in giving youth a voice and helping each one find success.

For the last five years, West has been awarded a 200 Club award from the NSDA noting our success with growing and maintaining a large and successful squad. In 2014, West attended its 40th National Tournament.

Individually, West has a vast collection of success. Yet, while we have received much regional, state, and national attention, West NFL seeks to create a community of students who want to better themselves and better the world. As we say, trophies are nice, but they melt in the mircowave. It is the experiences that will last a lifetime.
