Mission Statement

The Nelson Foundation was developed by the family and friends of Nelson DeOliveira. A young man lost to an act of gun and dating violence. The foundations mission is to provide public awareness on the true costs of gun and domestic/dating violence. Raise funds for organizations who fight gun and domestic/dating violence through positive community programs. Develop a scholarship in Nelson's memory for students who will follow our message of non-violent conflict resolution.

Description

The Nelson Foundation is a small foundation that meets monthly to develop events that will provide public awareness on the true costs of gun and domestic/dating violence. We also work with wonderful organizations that make a difference in the fight against gun and domestic/dating violence but lack crucial funding. We also contact corporations and individual donors for funding sources and work with politicians and media outlets to pass on our message of peace.
