Mission Statement

The Gateway Film Festival is a youth centered film festival in its first year of operation. We feature short films from college and high school students worldwide. The goal of our festival is to give young people a voice and allow their art to enrich our community.

Description

We are student run and organized event. Our festival started as a class offered to students at the Media Arts Department at Pacific University, In Oregon. Students created the festival from concept to execution, guided by professors. Pacific University is a small liberal arts college at the center of Forest Grove, Oregon. Pacific values offering students opportunities for experiential learning, leadership, civic engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration, and the Gateway Film Festival is a perfect forum for these values. The festival is supported by the Media Arts Department as co-sponsored by a number of departments and clubs on campus, as well as community partners. We are proud to be a platform for the creators of the future.
