HOCKEY STICKS TOGETHER FOUNDATION

Description

The Hockey Sticks Together Foundation was organized to provide leadership, strategic direction, fund development and organizational resource support to non-profit special needs and inner-city hockey programs in Western Pennsylvania. Our mission is to embrace individuals with disabilities and support the inclusion of athletes of different genders, age, ethnicity, ability, income and race in all aspects of hockey while driving positive social change. These all-volunteer disabled and inner-city hockey programs provide therapeutic and competitive opportunities for individuals of all ages and economically diverse backgrounds. Because these programs rely solely on volunteers and public support, they have encountered difficulties in achieving growth and success both financially and in the communities that they serve. In partnership with the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation, USA Hockey and the NHL's "Hockey Is For Everyone" program, we provide the support needed for each of these programs to expand their fund development and community outreach to increase the number of participants in all disabled and inner-city programs.
