At the mobile blood drives, you will welcome, greet, and thank donors and make sure they are looking well and not having an adverse reaction to donation (fainting or other) and call for help if something does happen. You help the donors feel comfortable, cared for, and eager to return again. You serve donors prepackaged cookies and snack options along with cold, assorted drinks from the cooler. Donors need to have liquid and food intake after donation to stay well and healthy and should remain in the area at least 15 minutes for health and safety reasons. Your job is to ensure that this happens. Qualifications: Positive attitude, compassion, interest in maintaining the health of others, customer service skills. These drives can be in the areas of Elkton, Rising Sun, Chestertown, Easton, Betterton, Cambridge, Berlin, Denton, Time Commitment: Shifts are available 7 days a week, with varying shift times. The shifts and locations vary day by day. Volunteers must be 18 years old and have their own transportation. As a greeter for Blood Donor Center, you will greet donors to the registration desk. You may be helping the donors to get a drink/snack prior to donation, taking temperatures, and/or sanitizing the tablets and laminated FDA reading materials. You'll interact with people, and help Blood Bank of Delmarva to give excellent service. Covid-19 protocols are in place. All donors must be 18 years of age and have their own transportation. As a canteen volunteer, you will serve snacks and drinks to our blood donors after they donate. You will serve a very important role in watching the donors during snack time, making sure they are doing well while they wait at least 15 minutes and calling for assistance if needed. You interact with people and make them feel comfortable and good about their donation and time given to save lives!
