Mission Statement

To connect conservation-minded young adults with recreation and volunteer opportunities to foster a new generation of state park stewards.

Description

Our Story

The Ambassador Program was formed in 2013 after State Parks began noticing that additional factors competing for young adults’ time in nature was leading to a decline in park visitors. Yet there was also strong evidence proving the benefits of time spent outside and a growing need for a new generation of park stewards. The Ambassador Program joined the Outdoor Education and Outreach team to inspire more young adults to get outside and become involved with Texas State Parks.
