Mission Statement
CHAP seeks to help our Claremont homeless neighbors find their way home.
Description
CHAP focuses on providing empowering mentorship to enable single men and women to work again and secure sustainable housing. Homeless residents are given the opportunity to sleep in a safe environment and a place to store their personal belongings 365 days a year. Within its five year history, CHAP has helped 15 individuals reach gainful employment and sustainable housing.
But our work at CHAP is just beginning. There are still many homeless residents in Claremont. By providing them with a friendly mentor and a safe place to sleep, we believe that we can help them reach their goals.
Located in downtown Claremont, CHAP is an all-volunteer organization. At CHAP, you will find volunteers either paired with an individual homeless resident or managing the overnight accommodation. Every hour that a dedicated volunteer spends at CHAP directly impacts a homeless neighbor. We believe that any volunteer can immediately change a homeless person’s life. Will you be that person?
