Virtual Opportunity
US ONLY Your Service Dog Inc has an Awesome opportunity available for you. Would you like to change the life of a disabled person by caring for one of our Program Puppies or Dogs in your own home as one of Your Service Dog Inc's Team of Puppy Raisers? The successful candidate must be a Dog lover, have a good internet connection, and have both time and patience, as they assist the Puppy through the first phase of his/her training journey right through to the completion of the Prospect Evaluation Course at Your Service Dog School which should take between 2 to 6 months to complete. During this 2-6 month (approx) period Your Service Dog School and its Trainers are available to assist you and the Program Dog or Puppy in your care. Our Trainers will guide you step by step through puppy socialization and training. Once the Program Dog or Puppy completes phase 1 of their training along the journey towards becoming a Full Potential Service Dog, you receive a Certificate of Appreciation and the Puppy will receive a Certificate of Completion. You will also have the joy of knowing that the Puppy you helped raise will go on to assist a disabled person and begin the work of learning to mitigate their disability. The candidate we are seeking will be willing to commit to taking care of the upkeep and care of the Program Puppy or Dog selected by Your Service Dog Inc as a possible suitable candidate to be trained to become a Service Dog. The training will begin once the Dog is placed in the care of the Puppy-Raiser (who will, with the help of free tuition and the guidance of one-to-one training from qualified trainers at Your Service Dog School) complete the Prospect Evaluation Course offered through the online school. Once you have completed the Prospect Evaluation Course with the Dog or Puppy (which should take approximately two to six months) the Dog or Puppy will enter his or her second phase of training, and you may then choose to receive another Pup to care for. By applying to join this Program as a Volunteer, you are aiding a disabled person in achieving much greater independence and dignity. You are also helping to save the lives of shelter/rescue Dogs - because as well as the Puppies from our Breeding Program, we also accept a large number of dogs into our program from Rescues and Shelters which meet our criteria. Once a Rescue Dog enters our Training Program, we do not return them to the shelter or the rescue setting they came from even if we determine that the Dog does not have the qualities necessary to become a Service Dog. To ensure the smooth running of this program we need Puppy Raiser Volunteers from all over the USA.
