Mission Statement
Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro enhances quality of life by providing expert interdisciplinary care, consultation, support, and education for those affected by serious illness, death, or grief.
Description
The majority of patients served by Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro live in their own homes or apartments. Hospice care is also extended to patients living in nursing homes, retirement centers, and assisted living facitilies. For patients who become unstable at home, the 10- bed Hospice Unit at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital is an alternative for short-term acute symptom management. Beacon Place is our 12-bed residential Hospice facililty for patients for whom home-care is not the best option. Our home-care program also includes a home-care component for children dealing with serious or life-threatening illness. The Grief Counseling Center provides individual counseling and bereavement support groups to anyone in the community who has experienced a loss. To meet the unique needs of children, Hospice provides specialized services for bereaved children.
