Mission Statement

Sister Carmen Community Center (SCCC) is a community based non-profit agency which provides assistance to residents of Boulder County without discrimination.

Description

Services include access to food, emergency services, educational services, counseling services and sales of contributed clothing and household items at its thrift store. In addition to the food bank, SCCC offers nutritional education opportunities and workshops on healthy meal preparation. Consistent access to nutritious food, necessary medical care and mental health counseling is essential to stability. These support services can stop the downward spiral of a crisis situation so families do not have to choose between groceries or rent. Our Advocacy Program works to strengthen individual, family, and community relationships through guidance that is one-on-one, culturally competent and centered on the strengths and needs of the entire family. We support families and assist them in recovering from challenging experiences through access to coordinated resources, education, prevention, basic needs and holistic services. SCCC empowers parents with the tools, skills and confidence they need to provide a healthy, safe and loving environment for their children. Parents receive individual support to enroll their children in health care and in the Childcare Assistance Program. We strengthen families through parenting education courses that are evidence-based and proven to help reduce child abuse and neglect. We are currently offering Basic Computer Skills classes for adults.
