Mission Statement

Citizen Angel enlists the financial and volunteer support of North Americans to aid charitable projects that benefit the economic empowerment of girls and women. Our primary focus is on girls’ education and women’s entrepreneurship. We aid the developing world and disadvantaged populations within North America.

Description

We provide financial support to Sakhi for Girls Education in Mumbai, India. Sakhi operates a girls’ learning center in the slums of Mumbai, providing girls with books, literacy education, and life skills training. Since 2008, founder Aarti Naik, a young woman "Changemaker," has been building educational capacities for slum girls through Sakhi’s community-based after-school program.

We also provide fiscal sponsorship and fundraising support to two giving circles in San Francisco: Thriving Women in Business Giving Circle and A3: Access, Advancement, Autonomy. These groups raise funds for the education and economic empowerment of women and girls in the developing world.
