Mission Statement

1.1 The Friends of the Cresheim Trail is organized and operated exclusively for educational, charitable, and/or religious purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, or to any corresponding provision of any future federal tax law as follows: 1.2 The Friends of the Cresheim Trail’s mission is to promote community building, health and open space through promoting and creating multi-use trails for recreation and transportation.

Description

Friends of the Cresheim Trail is an advocacy organization formed to promote the building of the 9-mile Cresheim Trail in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties, PA. Friends of the Cresheim works with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Springfield Township and Cheltenham Township to promote the development of the trail through grants and volunteer efforts. Two+ miles of natural surface trails have been built within Fairmount Park through the efforts of volunteers. Friends of the Cresheim Trail looks forward to the completion of the trail by the municipalities as a multiuse trail and part of the regional Circuit Trails system of trails.
