For the Love of Cats Rescue and Adoption organization finds homes for over 600+ cats each year. We do this through our volunteers and partner; PetSmart. Saturday Adoptions occur every week at the Commerce PetSmart from 9a-3p. Please complete a volunteer application on our website at www.locrami.com Asking for 1-2 times per month for 3 hour shifts, but they are always welcome to come more often and stay longer. Set up tables and organize cats being dropped off by fosters Escort the adopters and cat into the showrooms. Check on them every few minutes and answer questions. Assist Adoption Counselor in completing paperwork if they decide to adopt. Also help them meet other cats if they didn’t feel a connection with the other cat. Adoptions are by appointment only and all adopters have to be pre-approved by our Adoption Counselors. Take down tables and breakdown crates. Put away and clean up area. We use Sign Up Genius which they use to choose their days and shifts. Can come in and meet and see what they think before deciding.

We are fully foster based and always need volunteers to join our crusade of helping cats and kittens. We supply everything for you. You just need to provide a caring, warm home full of love. You can foster any kitty age and as many as you want. Foster applications are available on our website at https://www.locrami.com/. Requirements are: Having a dedicated room for the foster kitty(ies). The length of time to foster varies. We will work with your schedule. We supply food, litter, and medical care. You supply love and socialization. Once our kittens and cats are ready for adoption they are shown at PetSmart in Commerce each Saturday. We have an Adoption Team that approves applications and manages the adoption process for all of our fosters. We are also growing our team to help on Saturdays with our adoption events. Periodically, we participate in big sales or donations of cat supplies loaded onto pallets. We need a "pallet crew" to pick them up at a designated location, unload, and stock those supplies in our storage units that are located within the Walled Lake area Task is picking up and/or unloading pallets of donated goods into our two different storage units - both located in Walled Lake. We also need people with a commercial truck or Pick Up. This occurs infrequently during a weekday - maybe once per month - and on short notice. Saying yes puts you on the notification list when we need help, it does not obligate you for any particular pick up. Since we are a nonprofit company, all our funds come from donations and our fundraising efforts. We have a fundraising team that is our "think tank". They brainstorm and research ideas. Then, execute! The team has a lot of fun and would enjoy new people to generate ideas and help work the events. No experience required. Some events are online (Little Caesars Pizza Kits) and in person (bottle can drive) Looking for people to serve on the Committee or those available for periodic fundraising events. Mission Statement
We are a no-kill, no declaw 501c3 organization serving Oakland County and surrounding areas dedicated to: -Finding homes for abandoned, unwanted cats and kittens -Providing medical help to the sick and injured cats and kittens -Trap, Neuter then Release(TNR) feral cats to prevent more homeless cats and kittens.
Description
Established in October of 2015, as a cats only rescue, we are partnered with PetSmart in Commerce Township, MI where we hold adoption events every Saturday in order to place our many deserving cats and kittens in loving homes. As of July, 2018 we have placed over 1000 cats and kittens. Since we are a foster based rescue only, our number one need is more foster homes for the many more cat and kittens still needing our help. Our goal is to some day be able to have an actual facility to be able to help even more. We are young as a rescue but are very close to being able to obtain grants for food, litter, medical expenses including spay/neuter, etc.
